Strelley is a great place for the whole family and easily accessible from Nottingham.
Strelley Hall is a country estate in a rural village that is great for kids.. You are soon in a land of cows and thatched cotteges.
Strelley Hall has several playgrounds but it is also home to Strelley Hall and Strelley Church.

It is a great place to discover history – a real hidden gem, not far from Nottingam City Centre.
We went along with the kids who loved the day out and within minutes we had escaped the suburbs and were in a tranquil village that was once mentioned in the Domesday book.
First stop was Strelley Church, where our history loving daughter enjoyed learning about the history of the village from local volunteer Mike.

We found out that it was once owned by a well to do family called the Strelley’s after whom the village is named.

The hall has only been in three families since the beginning of its history, passing into the Edge family before its current owners in the 1970s.

We went along to Strelley where we went inside Nottingham’s only teddy bear repair shop, got some traditional pick and mix and enjoyed a lovely pub lunch.

It is a fantastic day out for the whole family.
Where to eat
The Broad Oak pub does a great kids menu and there is a bakery on site which sells cakes and fresh bread.
Getting There:
Take the tram from Nottingham City Centre to the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) and then drive on to Strelley.
